Examples: printing, cursive writing, hand skill development, manipulation of objects, pencil control etc Visual Perception Examples: visual memory, visual sequential memory, visual discrimination, visual figure ground etc. Auditory Perception Examples: following directions, auditory memory, auditory discrimination etc. Self Care Skills Examples: feeding, dressing, bathing, toiletting, tooth brushing etc. Life Skills Examples: money management, meal preparation, household management etc. Gross Motor Skills Examples: balance, coordination, strength, endurance, flexibility, range of motion etc. Sensory Processing Examples: attention to task, touch sensitivity, sensitivity to noise, movement (vestibular) challenges, feeding (oral) sensitivity, calming, sensory diets etc. Equipment Needs Examples: pencil grips, adapted cutlery, sensory tools, lifting aids, gym equipment, bathroom equipment, seating, wheelchairs, paediatric standing frames, etc. Sensory Room Evaluations/Recommendations Penny can work with you or your school/facility to best satisfy the needs of your sensory space. Major Facility Adaptations We can offer advice on relevant major household adaptations or, may write letters of support to agencies for funding assistance towards equipment purchase. Examples: for bathroom, bedroom, stair adaptations etc. (* Consult visits will likely include a local vendor of your choice) Lifting and Handling Examples: lifting needs assessment, training of staff/care giver, equipment needs. Social Skills Training Examples: greetings, manners, friendship building, behavioural self control etc. Injury/Disability/Surgery Site Rehabilitation Examples: range of motion improvement, skin desenstization, strength retraining etc | 1) Motor Vehicle Accident Rehabilitation
Assessment and Treatment services for this population may include any or all of the areas listed on the left.
Your Occupational Therapist will work directly with your Insurer to establish payment for service. All service fees will be agreed upon in advance of service provision between Therapist and Insurer. Your Occupational Therapist will liase directly with your Personal Injury Lawyer (if applicable) and will walk you through all relevant processes for service provision. Asssessments/Treatments: Your Occupational Therapist will liase with all relevant personnel necessary for the total care of either yourself, your child or your client (i.e. family physician, paediatrician, school staff, neurologist, psychologist, physical therapist etc).
